2016 transit connect cruise control

I have a 2016 transit connect and wish to activate the cruise control and speed limiter, i have purchased a second hand steering wheel with the control buttons fitted, ive fitted it and tried to activate the cruise and speed limiter via asbuilt but with no joy, can anyone help with what i can be doing wrong?
