Hello,
I installed a sync3 EU apim with nav in my 2016 Mondeo it came with 3.0.18025 and F7maps so far all fine ,last week I wanted to update to F8 maps and a hardware is incompatible with software error appeared ,I adapted the autoinstall and sync3 came up with a BGMAP ERR01 insufficient memory so I ran
Diamondear's script to verify available memory it came up with :

have you tried to make a master reset before instalation because it migth help

thanks already gave factory reset and module reset a go no resolve ,there may be some files left over from failed update attempts (unpacked files,......) filling up space, i have the script to remove gracenotes i heard about a script to clean up leftover files floating around in the wild.
assuming that clearing space in directory or completely removing maps,voice, gracenotes is the only way i can update to F8 maps.
so i guess i need a script to flush all directory's and a slimmed down install file or install in parts so system has space to unpack and install,

The F8 maps of version 3.0 will never be installed on this APIM. You don't have enough memory

I figured as much already. What's the difference in file size between F7 and f8? There must be a way to clear space in directory, maybe uninstall F7 maps and voices and after install f8 surely that wil clear enough space?

If you have already installed EU maps it means that you don't have all maps and/or not all voices. You won't install new F8 by myself via usb update.

How to make a map to enter the USA, map?
