I don't know if you have had the board completely out of the IPC, but i had this problem with the needles - when you refit the needles after them being removed, you MUST turn the needle as far as it will got - they all have a hard soft position, set that as zero point for the needles. when you turn the dash on, it goes through an initialisation process and resets all the dials to "zero" by turning them back until they stop.

i had a nightmare with dials going all over the place when i pulled mine apart - though i'd fried it! then realised what it was

If you want the later firmware i suggest you speak to alex (motral) or use the custom firmware in UCDS - he does the later (11xx) firmware with updated icons, PDC etc but also fixed the DTC generated by the drivers seat restrain module so no airbag light!
