Adapter bricked after automatic update!

Today, i want to use my UCDS and attached the adapter to my laptop and started the UCDS software.
Right after startup it checks for updates, found one for my adapter and begin installing it. After a few seconds and some messages telling the flash was erased and such, it says that it wait for the adapter to reset. But this never ends. Since then, the adapter is unresponsive!
PLEASE HELP, something went wrong

By some unknown magic it worked again, after plugging it into another computer and back into my laptop. Don‘t know why. Case is closed
