Add TCU to 2013 F150

I am trying to add a TCU (Telematics Control Unit) from a 2018 Explorer into my 2013 F150 to get FordPass working. I have wired the module up to CAN Bus/power/ground and am not able to get any tools to recognize it (running new module initialization processes).

Has anyone added the 2016+ TCU to a pre 2015 vehicle? All modules (PCM, BCM, IPC) are on latest official calibrations.

i need to try this but can you show me by pic where you install TCU and how . i have IDS i want to try on my explorer 2013

I upgraded from the small 4" screen to 8" screen so I have the connector that went to the 4" screen for use. It has all the necessary connections in it including constant 12v and CAN bus. I created a pigtail to interface the TCU wiring harness to this connector.

TCUs communicate on High Speed 3 (HS3), not MS-CAN. So there is that...
Also your vehicle is older, doesn't use a Gateway module per say... so there is that issue also. Your truck doesn't know what a TCU is. Your best bet would be try tapping the I-CAN network.
Also the newer TCUs with WiFi Hotspot, are slightly different than the original 2017 ones.

I have a TCU added to my 2016 Mustang GT Convertible with the Enhanced Security Package and it locks and unlocks from my phone but, it will not start the car. Tried changing the programming and still the same. I can hear a click that it receives the signal but no start. I wish Forscan would see the TCU Module instead of UCDS. I don't understand the asbuilt using UCDS as Forscan is easy peasy.

I wonder if the newer 2018 + TCU would work?
